Selinda Colt (Mrs. Aaron Stewart), born at Montville, Conn., November 8, 1789, was the daughter of John Colt and Susanna Bulkeley. The latter was a granddaughter of the brilliant Colonial Divine, John Bulkeley, who was the grandson of Charles Chauncey, President of Harvard College. Soon after the death of her husband she moved from New Haven to Fayston, Vt., and resided with her parents till 1825, when she married Elias Wells and thereafter lived at Duxbury, Vt., till her death, March 6, 1860 (Londonderry Stewarts - Genealogy of.)
