William Richard "Dick" Bennett, 82, passed through the veil of mortality Sunday, May 23, 2010, at his home in Henderson. He was the beloved leader of his family, a dear friend to countless, a steadfast Latter-day Saint, a 55-year member of UA Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 525, a proud U.S. Navy World War II Veteran and a consummate patriot. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Laurna Jessie Bennett; daughter, Tia Green; son-in-law, Robert Green;
and grandson, Aaron Green. He is survived by his sons, Jan (Janet) Bennett of Henderson, and Rick (Kerry) Bennett of Las Vegas; sisters, Judy (Floyd) Childs of Draper, Utah, and Anna Lou (Marion) Horrocks of Brigham City, Utah; brother, Ray (Bea) Bennett of Charlotte, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway. Visitation again 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, with services following, both at the Cholla Street LDS Chapel. Graveside service will follow at Palm Memorial Park - Henderson.
