A John Dunscombe of Kerton died about 1574. This may have been the same person as John above, although the family was usually listed as being in Crediton; however note that Kerton and Crediton seem to be used interchangeably to denote the same place.
Will dated Sept. 10, 1566. A memorandum dated Oct. 27, 1574 states that the 1566 will is still in effect (Crediton/Exeter registries copied by Nicholas Dunscombe, July 1856). A statement on the notes of Nicholas Dunscombe state that John was buried 1/15/1566 per certificate of the Vicar dated 7/12/1856 (the date of Nicholas' visit to Crediton and Exeter) however this seems to be a different John Dunscombe. John's will is dated 9/10/1566 with a memorandum dated 10/27/1574 that the will is still in effect (also from Nicholas Dunscombe's July 1856 notes). Another note on this page by Nicholas states that John was buried 10/29/1574.

The following notes were made by Nicholas Dunscombe:

I visited Exeter & Crediton in the County of Devon. Searched the Parish Registry at Crediton 12 July 1856. It is very old & difficult to make out. I have noted down a few entrants of Bapt. & Burials, if I had had time I could have made several additional entrants & found out more particulars. I searched the Consistory Registry at Exeter on the 14th & 15th July 1856. It is quite evident that Devonshire was the Regional cradle of our family & from it they spread out. Nicholas Dunscombe.

Nicholas's notes also indicate that "Dunscombe" had variant spellings, especially prior to 1600. These include:

Robert Denyscome - buried 4/2/1575
Thomas Denscome - buried 6/14/1573
Ellynor Dinecomb, wife of Noble, buried 6/17/1631
Noble Dinecombe - buried 7/12/1631
John Denscome - buried 1/15/1566
Thomas Denicome - buried 1/28/1566
Joan Denscombewidow, - buried 8/19/1858
Thomasyne Denscombewidow, - buried 12/8/1589
John Denycomibe - buried ?/1579

The July 1856 notes of Nicholas Dunscombe, citing Crediton and Exeter records most likely destroyed by German bombing in World War II, include this note: "Thomas Dunscombe of Willesborough Kent from 1538 to 1600 - burial of John Dunscombe son of Thomas 1603 Vicar."
"Bodley, Trowbridge & Dunscombe were all connected by intermarriages. John Bodley of Kyrton his will 20 Oct 1531 - Gilbert Bodley died at Crediton Dec. 1544. Johan his wife admin. to his will. John Bodley of Dunscombe his will 14 April 1562. Sons - John, Christopher, George, (Mark (?) & Mary the children of George), 2 daughters Katherine married to John West, Mary engaged to John Trobridge, Brothers Edward & Robert & sister Agnes - at Exeter office." (Note John, Christopher, and George are all first names that John Dunscombe (died 1574) gave to his sons. I will speculate here that this John Bodley may have been the father of Thomasine (Bodley) Dunscombe (EAD).
"Marriage bond at St. Fin Barre's Cork between John Fremont & Grace Lemon in 1623. Edward Dunscombe of St. Fin Berre was bondsman." More pages of notes ensue but they are for dates well-past when Thomas & Hannad (Jadwin) Dunscombe departed for Bermuda.
