Helen F. DeBord, 86, of Sterling, died Monday, May 2, 1994 in Sterling. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 1994, 10 a.m.to 8 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 1994, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling, Ivan E. Rundus D.D. will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. DeBord was born July 23, 1907, in Beattie, Kan., the daughter of William H. and Grace M. Reed Goin. After graduating from high school, she worked for Lincoln Telephone Co., until she was married in 1928 to Charles R. DeBord. She went back to work at the telephone company after his death in 1937, and worked there until her retirement to Sterling in 1970.
She was a member of the Pres byterian Church, Sterling Chapter No. 68 Order of Eastern Star, D.A.R., Meals On Wheels, and Council On Aging.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and a grandaughter, Kristin L. DeBord.
She is survived by sons Robert and his wife Ten of Sterling and Frank and his wife Judy of Denver; brothers William H. Goin of West Warwick, R.I., and Hugh Goin of Spokane, Wash.; sisters Rosalee Post of San Diego, Calif., Jeanne Gray of Chulavista, Calif. and Virginia Cowell of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren Kyle and wife Joni of Fort Collins, Beth of Vail and Kathryn of Denver; and great-grandchild Taylor Kristin DeBord.
