Michael Rice, 99, of Berwick went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at his residence, surrounded by family.
He was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Berwick, a son of the late John and Mary Rice.
Michael attended Berwick schools and was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church of Berwick. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, stamp collecting and was a big trout fisherman. He owned his own house-painting business for many years.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Stella H. (Horoschak) Rice, on Dec. 7, 1996, after 59 years of marriage; and eight siblings.
He is survived by his daughter, Constance Bilardi of Berwick, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. with Divine Liturgy at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 700 Warren St., Berwick. His pastor, the Rev. John Seniw, will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut Street, Berwick.
