Bobby Dale Jones passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Episcopal Church, 1700 N. Westmoreland Rd., DeSoto. Bob will be interred at St. Anne Episcopal Church. Bob was born June 30, 1938, in Amarillo. He completed his undergraduate degree at Trinity University in 1960, and earned his bachelor of divinity degree at Princeton Theological Seminary in 1962. Bob served as a minister in Dallas, and later moved his family to Euless, where he was the minister at the First Presbyterian Church for many years. He began working for the Prudential Insurance Company in the early 1970s, and was a dedicated salesman for them for 30 years. Bob finished his career at Standard Insurance, retiring in 2005. Bob remained active in the church throughout his life, teaching Sunday school at St. Phillip's Presbyterian Church in Euless for many years. After moving to DeSoto, he was a very active member of St. Anne Episcopal Church, serving in the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Bob's life was fulfilled by raising his children, by the lifelong hobbies of photography and golf, by gardening, and by caring for his dogs and cats. Bob was preceded in death by his second wife, Mary Jones; his father, Carlos B. Jones; and his mother, Viola Hanson Jones. Survivors: His first wife, Joan Jones; daughter, Esther Jones Grissom and husband, Kenneth; sons, Carl Jones, Robert Jones and wife, Clarice; sister, Eulalia Nichols; brother, Carlos Jones and wife, Sybil; nephews, Steve Nichols and wife, Melanie, Arthur Jones and wife, Donna; niece, Kara Jones Brown and husband, Mark; and loving companion, Barbara Oldani.
