Age 80 years. Buried October 20, 1981. On October 5, 1928, he married Charlotte Symington Riggs (1906-1995), daughter of Jesse Bright Riggs in Baltimore, Maryland. On Saturday, August 19, 1944, Charlotte Riggs Parker was granted a divorce from Major E. Cortlandt Parker, USMC in Reno, Nevada. They were the parents of three children. On Tuesday, February 13, 1945, while a Lieut. Colonel of the USMC stationed in Norman, Oklahoma, he married Mrs. James Lawrence Bailey, the former Miss Helen Hussey in New York City. She was the daughter of Mrs. Dennis B. Hussey of Park Plaza and the late Mr. Hussey. Her home, Ockanicken Farm was at Jobstown, New Jersey. His third wife was Mary Louise Niedringhaus McLanahan. The date of their marriage is unknown, but Mary Louise changed her name with the Social Security Administration in 1979.

Edward Cortlandt Parke was born on August 19, 1901 in Morristown, New Jersey. He attended St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire. In 1920 he graduated from Harvard University and graduated from Harvard Law School. During World War II he served as a Lieut. Colonel in the United States Marine Corps. He died on October 14, 1981 at Westerly Hospital in Rhode Island. Survivors included his wife, Mary Niedringhaus Parker; son E. Cortlandt Parker Jr. of Sacramento, California; two sons of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Menemsha, Massachusetts; eleven grandchildren; his twin sister, Mrs. Severn Miller of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Redway of the District of Columbia and Mrs. George Howe of Scottsfield, Virginia and three stepsons of New York City and Houston, Texas. Services were held graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery in the District of Columbia.
