Graham. On Sunday, the 30th of December, 1877, Mrs. Sarah Graham, aged 87 years, the mother of Curtis B. and John R. Graham.
The friends of the family are invited to attend her funeral from the residence of her son, Curtis B. Graham, at Arlington, Va., at 11 o’clock, Wednesday, 2d of January 1878. "Death of an Old Lady," Alexandria Gazette, January 3, 1878, page 3: "The Washington Republican says: "The funeral of the late Mrs. Sarah Graham, who died on Sunday night last [December 30, 1877], at the residence of her son, near Arlington, Va, took place at 11 o'clock yesterday morning [January 2], and the remains were interred in the family lot in tho Congressional Cemetery, the funeral services being read by Rev. Dr. Biddle, of Falls Church, Virginia. Deceased was 87 years of age [b. 1791], and was the mother of John A. and Curtis Graham, sr., and aunt of Rear Admiral Worden, of "Monitor" fame, who was present with his wife at the funeral. She leaves two sisters, one of whom is Admiral Worden's mother.
