Dr. Nathan Smith Davis, 55, of 3401 Chasm Lane, Manitowoc, died April 28.
A public memorial serivce at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Manitowoc, will
be announced later in the month.
Dr. Davis was born June 11, 1924, at Chicago, son of Mrs. Nathan S. Davis and
the late Dr. Nathan S. Davis III. He was graduated in 1947 from Havard College
and Medical School, Cambridge, Mass. Dr. Davis served in the Army from 1944 to
1946 and was a first lieutenant in the Army Medical Corps, from 1951 to 1953,
including 15 months of duty in Korea. He married Naomi Nichols, Feb. 12, 1949,
at Kenosha, Wis.
Dr. Davis became affiliated with the late Dr. N.C. Erdman in 1954. He was chief
of staff of Memorial Hospital in 1959, past president of Manitowoc County Medical
Society, served on the board of directors of the Menal (sic) Health Center and
was a member of the Governing Board of St. Paul Methodist Church. Dr. Davis served
two terms on the Manitowoc Board of Education.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Peter N. Davis of New York, N.Y., and Mark A.
Davis of Hanover, N.H.; two daughters, Anne C. Davis of Milwaukee and Susan E.
Davis of Manitowoc; his mother, Mrs. Nathan (Cordelia) Davis of Winnetka, Ill.,
and three brothers, Stephen F. Davis of Chesterfield, Mo., Graham Davis of New
Canaan, Conn., and Alden C. Davis of Surrey, England.
Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Paul Methodist Church, Lincoln High School
Scholarship Fund or Harvard Medical School, Roxbury, Massachusetts.
