HERMON – Robert E. Jordan, 94, husband of the late Carmen (Phinney) Jordan, died March 13, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare center. He was born Jan. 15, 1912, in Hancock, the son of Humphrey and Elizabeth (Stratton) Jordan. Bob had been employed as a mechanic with the Greyhound Bus Lines for 33 years, retiring in 1975. He loved antique cars and enjoyed working on his neighbors and friends automobiles.

Surviving are four children, Roberta White and her husband, John, of Bucksport, Herbert R. Jordan and his wife, Norma Jean, of Hermon, Mary Jordan of Alton, Beverly Booker and her husband, Richard, of Carmel; several grandchildren, including Robert R. Jordan, with whom he made his home; several great-grandchildren, including A.J., with whom he also made his home, and his wife, Tabbie, of Hermon; nieces, nephews and a dear friend, Jacqueline Hunter of Alton.

Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Melva Duplisea of Chicopee, Mass. in May 2005; two brothers, Clyde and Russell.
A graveside service will be held in May at the Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon. (Bangor Daily News)
