Daniel, the father of Col. Ely, was married four times, and had thirteen children, as follows: Mary, who married Benj. Lee; Ann, married Benj. Harris; Elizabeth, married Abram Perkins; Daniel, married Abigail Dennison; Sarah, Ruth; Wells, married Elizabeth Williams and Rebecca Selden; John, noticed above (see John Ely page); Amy, married Ezra Selden; Lucretia, married Benj. Colt, from whom descended Samuel Colt of Hartford, renowned for his invention of the revolver, and the late Dudley Selden of New York; Christopher, who married successively Eve Marvin, Esther Hunt, and -- Elliot; and Elisha, who married Susanna Bloomer (see Genealogical table of the Lee family, by Rev. Was in 1st Co. 6 Reg't in 1775 (probably also Colonial as his father Daniel Ely was killed in service 9 Dec. 1762 in same Co. same Reg't) (findagrave.com). Note this lineage conflicts with my information.
