Judith Andrew McCarthy left this physical world and began her new adventure on January 14, 2023. Gram Judy, as she was known to all, was born July 4th, 1930 and lived life to the fullest. Daughter, mother, nurse, traveler, and the ultimate ski bum. She knew life was not perfect, but it could be good. She saw the flaws in humankind, but she recognized the good in all people, in every individual person.
She leaves her three children, Kristi Robertson, Buck McCarthy, and Susan DeSimone, waiting in the lift line hoping to catch up with her. She was predeceased by her son, G. Thomas McCarthy, who is hitting the slopes with her now.
A special thank you to Gram Judy's new family at Apple Rehab, Watertown, CT. Their kindness, strength, and love carried her up the snowy mountain.
History is important. You may honor Gram Judy by making a donation or volunteering at the Glebe House, the Old Woodbury Historical Society, or any of the local history museums. You can also honor her by putting down your phone, turning off your screen, putting on your comfy shoes, and going for a walk. Connect with nature every day. Find the beauty in life.
The winter service will be private, but an outdoor celebration of her life will take place this summer.
