Edwn John Tuttle, aged 84 years, died at 5 o'clock Friday morning at his home, 2 Hastings street, Wellsboro, after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 7, 184, in Hornell, N. Y., son of Byron and Sarah Strawn Tuttle.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Tuttle; one daughter, Mrs. A. C. Anderson, of Ballston Spa, N. Y.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Harry Cole, of Tioga; Mrs. Cecil Walker, of Wellsboro, R. D. 4; Mrs. Martha Confer, of Corning; one stepson, Stewart Baldwin, of Toledo, Ohio; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church, Masons, Odd Fellows and Grange.
He was an organizer of the Tioga County Pomona Grange and held many offices not only in local but also in the State Grange.
The funeral was held at St. Paul's church, Monday, Rev. H. Frownfelter officiating; burial in the Wellsboro cemetery.
