From Lois McClellan Patrie, "History of Colrain" (1974), McClellan Genealogies, pg.92:

The Henry family, including Jane and her husband Michael McClellan, came to America from Maghera, Co.Derry, Ireland about 1749. Michael McClellan was probably the son of a Hugh McClellan who died in that place in 1739. Michael boughgt land in Colrain near the first settlement, and built a log cabin on it. Eight children came with him, including the eldest daughter Jennet, who had already married.

Sometime during or after 1753, alarmed by Indian attacks, he removed to Pelham,MA, where he died in 1757. His place of burial is not known.

Jane (Henry) McClellan was a sister of Hugh, John, Robert, and James Henry, and a daughter of David Henry, having been born in Ireland about 1710. Following her husband's death, her family returned to Colrain in 1760, and her eldest son Hugh, aged 16, began to re-clear and work his father's farm. Jane lived with him and his family until her death there on August 13,1777.
