C.A. Rummel, 92, Succumbs; Buried Here
Mr. Charles A. Rummel, for many years a resident of Alden and father of William B. Rummel, 1133 Ashland Avenue, Wilmette, Illinois died October 7, 1946 at the age of 92 years, 8 months, 16 days.

Mr. Rummel was born near Hanover, Germany January 21, 1854 and was only 18 months old when the family came to Milwaukee. When he became 16 he came to Alden at the request of his older bother, Ludwig and worked for him, learning the blacksmith trade.

After his marriage in 1879 to Eva Clarissa Kemp he established a business of his own and continued in it until he retired in 1912. He moved to Wilmette, Illinois in 1917 and after the death of Mrs. Rummel in 1921 he made his home with his son.

Surviving Mr. Rummel are a brother, Ben of Hawarden, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Friess of Fondulac, Wisconsin; a son, William B. of Wilmette, Illinois; two grandsons, Charles G. of Wilmette and William K. of Aurora, Illinois and a great-granddaughter, Jane Anne Rummel.

Funeral services were held at 2PM on Wednesday at the Congregational Church, the Rev. George W. Campbell, officiating. Burial was at the Alden Cemetery.
