Son of George Matteson and Eva Etta Alexander
Greenfield - George Matteson, 81, of 58 Federal St., retired owner of a taxi business, died Sunday in Franklin County Public Hospital. Born in Colrain, August 15, 1885, The son of George and Eva (Alexander) Matteson. He lived in Greenfield 70 years. He was a former owner of the Yellow Cab co. He was a member of the Republican Lodge of Masons and the Greenfield Lodge of Elks.
He leaves two cousins, Mrs. Ruth Patnode, and Ralph Blodgett, both of Greenfield.
Funeral Services are this morning at 11 a.m. in the McCarthy funeral home with Rev. Norman R. Farnum, Jr. of Second Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in the Brick Cemetery, Colrain.
