The first of three children born to William J. and Mary E. Odell, who were born in St. John County, New Brunswick, Canada.
Oscar married Carrie Adelaide Hardy on Sep. 28, 1875. They were the parents of Ada Mable, born July 29, 1876. Ada is reported to have married William Eldon Ely, who died in Chicago on Sep. 16, 1897.
Oscar and Carrie were divorced by 1880 when both remarried, Oscar to Adoline F. (Marden) Stewart at Boston on Aug. 27. 1885 and Carrie to Arthur Wyman in 1887.
Oscar was a 52 year old married hotel clerk when he died of heart disease at his home located at 22 Maple Ave., Somerville. The death certificate confirms burial at Forest Hills Cemetery.
