Robert R. Dixon, 90 of Murrysville passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 after a short illness.

Bob was born October 25, 1922 to George and Frances Dixon.

He grew up in Ambridge, PA.

A WW II veteran, he joined the army corp of engineers and spent his time working on the Manhattan Project.

After the war, he finished his grad work at Princeton and retired from Westinghouse after a 40 year career as a plastics engineer.

He loved to travel and cruise, camp, garden and wrote his own software programs using GW BASIC.

He was a member of St. James Anglican Church, Penn Hills and was their treasurer for many years.

He was a member in good standing of the Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio.

Bob spent his last decade at Redstone Highlands, Murrysville, a place he thoroughly enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by two beloved wives; Sallie Atchison Dixon and Vera Dennerly Dixon; two sons, Davis Reed Dixon and Dan Hubbard Dixon and a daughter-in-law, Joann Dixon.

Bob is survived by a daughter, of Columbus, OH ; a son, of Derry; a daughter-in-law, of Houston, TX, six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. to noon Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville with a funeral service at noon on Friday.

A memorial service will be held at Redstone Highlands, Murrysville on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11 a.m.
