1st Earl of Snowdon, Photographer, Filmmaker. He was the husband of Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II. He was also well known for his photography and film work. He attended Cambridge University and later established himself as a photographer. He became engaged to Princess Margaret in February of 1960. They were married on May 6, 1960 in the first televised royal wedding. The two were married for 18 years. They had two children together (David, Viscount Linley, and Lady Sarah), but their marriage was rocky from the start. They divorced in 1978. He would marry a second time, to Lucy Mary Lindsay-Hogg, that same year. This marriage also ended in divorce, in 2000. He continued his photographic work during his marriage to Princess Margaret and became one of Britain's top photographers during the 1960s. He would continue this work until his passing. He also made documentary films for the CBS news program "60 Minutes," one of which won an Emmy Award. He also co-designed the aviary at the London Zoo and put together a design for an electric wheelchair.
