As bizarre as it may seem, the records indicate that Elsie married Ralph Madison Rounds on April 21, 1920, then married Ralph's father, Dwight Cheney Rounds, on May 23, 1923. Dwight's first wife, Cora Belle (Ballard), died Oct. 1920. Ralph shows in the 1930 census as married to Rebekah (Cooper) and she is also listed as his wife on findagrave. The 1930 census also says rhey have two children, ages six and three. But there are multiple records indicating Elsie's marriage to Ralph in 1920 and Dwight in 1923. Elsie shows as Dwight's wife in the 1930 census, and on his 1923 passport application.
