Former Resident of Leroy Dies
Announcement has been made here that Mrs. Alice L. Lane, 83, born in Leroy, Sept. 19, 1864, died March 7 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Adam V. Westover, 710 Germania Ave., Bay City, Mich.
She had resided in Linwood, Mich., 50 years and in Bay City the last ten years. She had been ill 10 days. Mrs. Lane was a member of the American Legion auxiliary, Ladies' Aid Society of the First Reformed Church and was a Gold Star Mother of World War I.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Bird of Detroit; four sons, Burt and Ernest of Fairport, Walter of Indianapolis and Joseph of Detroit; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held in the Gephart Funeral Home in Bay City, the Rev. T. L. Heffley officiating. Burial was in Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Kawkawlin, Mich.
