Lawrence H. Gale, 58, Salt Lake City, died yesterday in a Salt Lake hospital after a lingering illness.
Mr. Gale was a blacksmith for the Denver and Rio Grande Western railroad for 30 years. He was a veteran of World War I and served with the U.S. army in France.
He was born June 21, 1894 in Ogden, a son of Heber Daniel and Harriet Jane Robinson Gale. In 1923 he married Estella Cook in Salt Lake City.
Surviving are his widow, Salt Lake City; a son by a former marriage, Don Heber Gale, Inglewood, Calif., a brother and two sisters, James P. Gale and Mrs. Vern (Esther) Far, Ogden, and Mrs. R. J. (Hermia) Anderson, Alameda, Calif.

Funeral services for Lawrence H. Gale, 58, Salt Lake City, who died Thursday, will be conducted Monday at 4 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E So. Temple St., Salt Lake City. Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct rites at the graveside in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
