Vera Lee Wadsworth Thomas
1925-2021
Our mother, Vera Lee Wadsworth Thomas, passed away at home July 26, 2021. A third generation Nevadan, she was born on December 2,1925 in Alamo, Nevada to Charles Earl and Theresa Stewart Wadsworth.
Vera spent her childhood and teen years "up home" in Alamo surrounded by a large family and many friends. After moving to Las Vegas she met the love of her life, Frederick Thomas from Cardiff, Wales. They were married in 1953 and spent 68 years together living in North Las Vegas.
Vera passionately loved her family and her children were her greatest joy. She was the perfect grandma to her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lois Higbee, Nedra Shumway, Lorna Dugger and her eternal companion Frederick Thomas. She is survived by her brother Charles (Verla) Wadsworth of Alamo, sister Sharon McCall of Las Vegas, brothers-in-law Don Dugger of Albuquerque and Alun Thomas of Cardiff. Her children, Theresa (Paul) Matuska of Boulder City, John (Tricia) Thomas of Alamo, Rosalee (Jack) Pictum and Jim (Yvette) Thomas both of Las Vegas.
A graveside service and burial was previously held in Alamo, Nevada.
She will be forever missed. Until we meet again, we love you Mom, we love you Grams.
