Maryellen Imelda LaHoda, 76, of Prospect Park, PA., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends. Maryellen was born in Philadelphia on July 6, 1948 to the late Charles “Chick” and Mildred Feeney. She grew up in Port Richmond and was a graduate of Little Flower High School. She also attended Philadelphia Community College.
Maryellen spent her youth working summers on the boardwalk at Malin’s Candy Shop in Wildwood, NJ. Maryellen’s favorite hobbies throughout her life included creating stained glass, gardening, interior design, arts and crafts. For most of her adult life she worked as a customs brokerage import specialist and finished her career at AMCO at Philadelphia International Airport.
She met her husband and love of her life, Mick, in the winter of 1968 in the Poconos where they were both on ski trips with friends. This improbable meeting initiated their beautiful life of travel and adventure together.
Maryellen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Michael “Mick” LaHoda Jr., two sons Michael B. LaHoda, Greg J. LaHoda (Tricia). She is survived by her siblings Charles Feeney, Patricia (Feeney) Murtagh (John), Terry Feeney, and a vast extended family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to Maryellen’s Life Celebration on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074. Her interment will be private.
