March 7, 1931 ~ Oct. 13, 2024
Lola Mae Udell Chivers Yadron, age 93, died peacefully in her sleep in the golden hour of the day, surrounded by
family on Sunday, October 13, 2024.
Lola was born on March 7, 1931, in Santa Monica, California to T. Dean and Helen Johnson Udell. Being born
during the Great Depression, one of her earliest memories was her father selling oranges alongside the highway to
fund the family’s move to Lehi, Utah. As the eldest child, Lola was expected to be responsible and work hard,
although she also made her fair share of mischief, such as when she blew every window out in the neighborhood
when she accidentally ignited her dad’s dynamite-filled shed.
After graduating from Lehi High School, Lola drove a sugar beet truck in Lehi. Later, she moved to Salt Lake City to
attend university. One day, she looked out her apartment window and saw a cute redheaded guy. His name was
Bobby Doyle Chivers, who had recently returned from Naval deployment. The two fell in love and married on June
6, 1951. They built their home in Lehi, Utah where they raised their children Scott, Clay, Jill, and Rusty. Lola also
spent over twenty years as the front office administrator at American Fork Middle School, a role she cherished. Lola
and Bobby were sealed in the Provo Temple on November 24, 1989.
During her life, Lola experienced many unthinkable hardships, including the death of her eight-year-old son, Rusty,
and later the deaths of her daughter, Jill, son, Scott, and husband Bobby within a 4-year time span. Lola found
healing during hard times through family, community, and faith. Lola was friendly, gracious, loving, stubborn, loyal,
kind, generous, fun and persistent.
In 2003, Lola married her sweetheart David Yadron. Dave was a loving and supportive husband, and the two
shared many years of happy adventures.
Lola was renowned for her years of walking three miles each morning, was an avid reader, loved gardening,
shopping, listening to music, and was always looking forward to her next grandchild’s birthday.
Lola is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Chivers; her children, Rusty Chivers, Jill Timpson, and Scott
Chivers; and her brothers, Gus Udell and Bob Udell (June).
Lola is survived by her husband, Dave Yadron (and his beautiful family); son, Clay Chivers (Kim); grandchildren,
Jessica Whitlock (Jason), Willard Chivers, Taylor Chivers, Lennie Knowlton (John), Audrey Nichols, Mason Nichols
(Kristen), Austin Timpson (Arionna), Claire Timpson, and Benjamin Schachtschneider; great-grandchildren, Corbin
and Alex Steele, Jack, Bobby, and Jill Knowlton, Norah Nichols, and Thedy and Nevada Timpson; sisters, Cheri
Robinson, Kris Evans (Cole), and Kathryn McCarrie; brother, Kent Udell (Cherise), and many nieces and nephews.
