Isabel (de la Cruz) Echols was born January 26, 1937 in Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico.

Raised in northern Mexico, she met Benjamin "Ben" Echols (1936- ) in 1958 and they were married two years later.

Isabel and Ben lived in Barstow, California for 40 years before moving to the Victorville area, and in 2006 they bought a home in Apple Valley with their daughter and her family. Ben was a local attorney and retired school teacher.

She spent her life caring for her children, grandchildren and husband, and for a while she worked at Michael's flower shop where she learned flower arranging. She also worked for a time as a Spanish Court interpreter in Barstow Superior Court where she was greatly loved by her clients, the lawyers and the judges. Isabel was also very active in her church.

She was 75 years old when she passed away on January 8, 2013 in Clark County, Nevada.

Survivors included 7 siblings, her husband, 6 children and 16 grandchildren.

Memorial Services were held at the Latter Day Saints chapel on South Barstow Road, and Funeral Services were at Sunset Hills mortuary in Apple Valley, with burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
