Farris Comer Hudson
Farris Comer Hudson, 92, of 103 Rose Hill Drive, South Boston died March 10, 2010 at The Woodview. She was born Sept. 13, 1917 in Halifax County the daughter of the late Walter Green Comer and Lonie Ford Comer. Ms. Hudson was a member of North Fork Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Jean Wilborn of Merritt Island, FL, Myrna West and husband, Jimmie, of Clarksville, Lottie Hudson of Roxboro, NC and Bonnie Wilson and husband, Jimmy, of Virgilina; one son, Gerald Hudson and wife, Ruth, of Halifax; two sons-in-law, Jack Wilborn of South Boston and F.T. Bowes of Roxboro; two sisters, Anna Glasscock of Buffalo Junction and Helen Thacker of South Boston; two brothers, Hester Comer and Freeman Comer, both of Virgilina; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Hudson was preceded in death by two daughters, George Anna Wilborn and Glenda Bowes; one son, Stover Hudson; one granddaughter, Cynthia Jean Rushack; her former husband, Woodrow Hudson; and a number of brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at North Fork Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Hudson and Scott Welch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday, March 12, from 7 to 8:30, and other times at the home of Bonnie and Jimmy Wilson, 3161 Wilson Road, Virgilina.
