Charles Austin Tiffin MMC(SS) US navy, Retired age 79 passed away Monday, October 31, 2011 at his home in Ivey, GA. Services will be held at 3PM Friday, November 11. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
Mr. Tiffin was born January 27, 1932 in White Plains, New York. He served his country in the U.S. navy from December 12, 1950 until June of 1970. He was assigned to USS ALEXANDER HAMILTON SSBN-617; USS VESOLE DDR-878; USS CORAL SEA CVA-43; And the USS WASP CVA-18.
Mr. Tiffin is survived by his wife, Barbara Tiffin, sons Charles Lyon Tiffin, Michael Francis Tiffin, Scott Christopher Beck, Charles Andrew Harrison, Jr., and, daughters Beverly Jeanne Beck Combs, Janice Linda Beck and Connie Tiffin McNamara, thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, his sister, Joan Tiffin Jennings, brother, Richard Lyon Tiffin and his companion Dolly.
