Louis Maxwell FULMER was born 10 January 1898 in Belvue, Pottawatomie County, Kansas. Louis was the son of Henry Arthur FULMER and Bertha Kizia HONEYWELL. He was the 3rd of 4 children of Henry and Bertha.

Louis married Leona Margaret CHATFIELD 7 March 1920 in St Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. Leona was the daughter of George Morgan CHATFIELD and Gusta Tina NOWACK. She was born 8 August 1896 in St Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri.

Louis and Leona had 2 children:

---- Henry Louis (1923-1997)

Louis and Leona divorced in the fall of 1942 or 1943.

Louis married Catherine Jean MCBRIDE 15 October 1942 or 1943. Kay was the daughter of Clarence A MCBRIDE and Emma M SCHMITT. She was born 22 February 1911 in Columbus, Cherokee County, Kansas.

Louis died 17 March 1985 in Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas.

Dr. Louis M. Fulmer

Wamego-Dr. Louis M. Fulmer, 87, a Wamego veterinarian, died Sunday, March 17, at a Manhattan hospital, where he had been a patient a week. He had a heart ailment four years.

Dr. Fulmer was a graduate of the St. Joseph Veterinary School of Medicine, St. Joseph, Mo., after attending Pottawatomie County schools.

Dr. Fulmer retired in 1980 after 64 years in practice.

He was born Jan. 10, 1898, at Belvue, the son of Henry and Bertha Honeywell Fulmer.

He was a member of the United Methodist church and a former member of the Lions Club, both at Wamego, and was a member of the Elks Lodge, Manhattan. He was a life member of the Kansas Veterinary Medicine Association.

He was married to Catherine "Kay" McBride Oct. 15, 1942. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Burwell, Flint, Mich.; a son H. . Fulmer, Dallas; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial will be in Wamego City Cemetery.
