Fred Buchwald Services Set For Saturday

Services for Fred J. Buchwald, 84, former Marshalltown resident who
died at the hospital in Fairfield, California, Tuesday, July 16, 1968.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral
Home at 1:30 p.m., Saturday with The Rev. Richard Walters, pastor of
Central Christian Church, in charge. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at Estel-Perriffs Funeral Home Saturday morning.

Born September 29, 1883, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Charles and Mary Wise Buchwald. He received his education in this area and
was a self employed lumberman.

Preceding him in death were his wife, the former Florence Burritt, and a daughter, Thelma Bryant.

For the last 26 years, Mr. Buchwald has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Dudley in Vallejo, Calif. He was the oldest living former member of the Marshalltown Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are six daughters; Elaine (Earl) Hayes and Florence (Donald) Frye, both of Dixon, Calif.; Hazel (Lyle) Winters, Mary (Kennneth) Dudley and Doris (Robert) LaPlant, all of Vallejo, Calif., Mrs. Alice (Hugh) Miller of Covina, Calif., and four sons, Glen Buchwald of Pasadena. Calif., Freeman and Walter Buchwald both of Marshalltown, and Byron Buchwald, Salt Lake City, Utah. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.

Services in Califomia were held at the Wiggins Funeral Home in Vallejo at 4 p.m. Thursday and the body will arrive in Marshalltown late Friday evening for burial on in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown,
Marshall County, Iowa.
