Mavis was born February 20, 1928 near Doland, SD to Ray B. and Mary Naomi Johnson. She married Richard Wolner on June 2, 1947 and they settled on a farm outside Frankfort, SD. In 1967 they moved their family to Oregon and ran a second hand store in Amity, OR for many years. They moved to Arizona in 1985 and to Redfield in 2005.
Mavis enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, beating her daughters at cards, and creating "interesting" crafts from anything she found, whether it was pine needles, tiny desert flowers or A/C filters. Her Christmas packages were always an "adventure" to open, especially the ones that traveled the world and didn't arrive until July. She enjoyed people and was willing to try just about anything once, including climbing Mt. St. Helens and peering over the edge into the gaping crater that was left after it blew.
She was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.
She is survived by sons: Doug, Gary and Randy, daughters: Dixee, Virginia and Claudia, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Richard, three brothers and three sisters.
