Edwin Waylett 1928 ~ 2006 Edwin Waylett, born on Nov. 18, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and brother. He passed away peacefully on, Sept. 1, 2006 at his home after battling cancer.
While growing up, Ed worked in his father's grocery store, Waylett's Market. Ed served in the Army as a paramedic/cook in the Korean War. He was a supervisor for Fisher and Continental Bakeries. He loved his family and enjoyed, golfing, bowling, spectator sports and cars. Ed got a "hole-in-one" during his golfing days. His last car was a red Cadillac Eldorado with license plates that read, "EDNJUNE".
He enjoyed attending sporting events with his son, Eddie. Survived by his second sweetheart, June Tidwell-Waylett (married on March 5, 1990); his son, Edwin D. Waylett, Gilbert, Arizona; his granddaughters, Erin Stearns, and her daughter, Gracie, Vernal, Utah; Megan Boynton-Waylett, Kansas City, Missouri; his step-daughters, Lesley (Bob) Black, Salt Lake City, Utah; Denise (Doug) Wollschleger, Holladay, Utah; his step-grandsons, Steven (Jessica) Wollschleger, Kevin Wollschleger, Jeff Black, David Black; his sisters, Betty Giles, West Valley, Utah; and Bonnie McIver, St. George, Utah. He was preceded in death by his first sweetheart, Lynn Lackey; and his parents, Margaret Hutchinson and George Edwin Waylett.
Ed was a great cook. His grandsons thought he made the best grilled-cheese sandwiches ever. Ed read his scriptures daily and was a good, generous Christian man. Whenever Ed was asked how he was doing, he said, "perfect" and we wish him to be "perfect" now. Ed was deeply loved and those close to him considered themselves fortunate to have known him.
