Roxanna Crosby Weed was the daughter of Peter Crosby (1763-1831) and Ruth Waring Crosby (1763-1830). In 1804, she married Hart Birch Weed, Sr. (1784-1863). Hart and Roxanna had five children; the first three died as infants. George (1804-1805) lived 4 months and 12 days, Mary (1806-1807) lived 1 year, and David (1808-1808) lived 5 days. Son Hart Birch Weed Jr. lived 1810-1863, and daughter Clarissia Weed Wyatt lived 1814-1876. Infants Mary and David are also buried here at Milltown Cemetery. George and Hart Jr. are buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Clarissia married Henry Jones Wyatt; they are buried in the Patterson Baptist Cemetery in Patterson, Putnam County, NY.

Hart Birch Weed Sr. died on 10 Jan. 1863. His wife, Roxanna Crosby Weed, and son, Hart Birch Weed Jr., both died on 4 Mar 1863, less than two months after Hart Sr. died.

Gravesite Details
Her stone is broken off and very worn. What is left of the stone tablet is leaning up against the back of her husband's gravestone. It is in the oldest part of the cemetery, originally called the Milltown Burying Ground.
