The son of John Cannon and Julia Musick, both born in Deleware, husband of Sarah Cannon, he died at the Shelby County Infirmary, according to his death certificate.

Obituary (Shelby County (Shelbyville, MO) Herald, May 4, 1932)- Philip B. Cannon, former resident of south of Clarence, died at 9 o'clock Saturday evening at the Shelby County Infirmary here, following seven months ill health. Death was due to heart disease. He was born Nov. 24, 1862, the son of John and Julia Messick Cannon at Laurel, Del. In 1890 he was married to Miss Mary Jefferson, who died the following year. In 1893 he came to Missouri and about two years later he was married to Miss Dottie Wallace. He was a member of the Duncan's Bridge Methodist church. Surviving are four sons, Paul, Wilbur, Lyon (Lynn) and Harsin (Harrison) Cannon; and one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Clutter. All of these children live in Casper, Wyo. Funeral services were held at Duncan's Bridge church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. L. C. Maggart. Burial was in the church cemetery.
