Doris Wallace, 89, Clarence, died Monday, January 3, 2005, at the Clarence Care Center in Clarence.
She was born July 10, 1915 in Lentner, MO. the daughter of Ernest Robert and Amanda Virginia Taylor Davis. She married Glenn wallace on July 5, 1966, in Huntsville. He survives. Other survivors include one nephew, James Davis, Fredrick, Mass.; one niece, Sarah Seat, Leesburg, VA,; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Taylor Davis. Mrs. Wallace received her B.S. Degree from Kirksville State Teachers College and her Masters Degree from the University of Missouri. She went on to receive her PHD from New York University in New York City. She taught elementary, high school and college students all over the country. She was a member of the Clarence United Methodist Church, DAR, Washington Family Decedents, Vandiver Family Association, and the National Speech and Hearing Association. She enjoyed genealogy and touring in the Antique Car Club.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Clarence with Reb. Beryl Cragg officiating. Burial will bse in the Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence. Visitation will be Friday, January 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence. Memorials may be made to the Clarence United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Association.
