Antone (Tony) Aloysius Bichsel, 68, of Leoonard, died suddenly at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 1984, at his home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1916, in Shelby County, near Leonard, to George and Beatrice Peoples Bichsel. He was married to Leola Belle Clark on March 26, 1940, in Clarence. She died Jan. 9, 1972.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty J. Hunolt of Bethel and Mrs. Genelle Kiser of Richmond; one son, Bob Bichsel of St. Charles; two brothers, Otho Bichsel of Leonard and Louis Bichsel of Paris; five sisters, Miss Otilia Bichsel of Shelbina, Mrs. Agnes Copenhaver of Center, Sister Mary Ignatius, Sister Mary Otho and Sister Mary Leon, all of St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife, one brother, one sister and three half-brothers and sisters.
Mr. Bichsel was a farmer and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, south of Leonard.
Visitation was held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbyville on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Dec. 17, 1984, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, south of Leonard, or northeast of Hagers Grove. Msgr. John Mahoney and Msgr. Joseph Bugler officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were John McEwen, Tommy Bichsel, Russell Gander, Wendell Beckley, George Bichsel, David Bichsel, Vince Bichsel and Paul Bichsel.
