Betty Jolene Long

Betty Jolene Long, age 81, of Warsaw, MO, passed away at McAllen Heart Hospital in McAllen, TX on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

Betty was born in Leonard, MO on May 2, 1941 to Antone Aloysius and Leola Belle (Clark) Bichsel. She was united in marriage to Dale W. Long on February 10, 1989 in Independence, MO. He survives.

She is also survived by two step children, Raymond Long (Laurie) of Eureka Springs, AR, and Gayla Bichsel (Vince) of Blue Springs, MO; five grandchildren, Billy Joe Hunolt (Tiffany), Christopher Hunolt, Charles Tyler Hunolt (Brittany), Lacy Meyer (Justin), and Thomas Avery Hunolt; five great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; and one sister, Genelle Kiser (Ernie) of Richmond, MO.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Randy Hunolt and Rob Hunolt; and brother, Bob Bichsel.

Betty was the president of Damsite Dancers and square danced for many years. She made all of her dancing dresses. Betty liked to travel and was a member of the State Fair Campers Club, spending several months in Texas every year. Her family always looked to her for cooking advice. Betty also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, dominos, and darts with her family. She dearly loved her little dog, Sammy and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 10 am at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home in Shelbina. Burial will be held in the St. Michael's Cemetery near Hagers Grove, MO following the service. Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice.
