The Pembroke volume of the Bermuda Architectural History Series, pg. 261, provides a history of the Widdington property's ownership. It indicates that Squire was a half uncle of Joseph Edward Albouy Godfrey, and that this Joseph was a grandson of Peter Godfrey (the father of Christianna Godfrey who married John Dunscombe, this John also later owned the proerrty). By this I deduce that Peter had at least two sons - Squire and the unnamed father of Joseph. And since Squire is Joseph's half-uncle, it would seem that he (Squire) had a different mother than did Joseph's father, further indicating that Peter had another wife besides Sarah Stowe. It also seems possible that Peter had at least one brother who could have been the father of Squire, but this would introduce an even wider ownership chain of the property.
