Verona L Kasper, age 95, passed away on January 2, 2012, at GracePointe Crossing Gables East at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 16 days.
Verona LaVerne Kasper was born February 17, 1916, in Bodum Minnesota to Nels and Frieda (Peterson) Paulson.
She was raised and attended school in the Bodum area. Verona married Rex Woods and they had five children, David, Joyce, Mary, Steven and Tom. In 1962 they moved to Anoka where they lived for about 20 years. Verona worked at the State Hospitals in Cambridge and Anoka, at the arsenal and at Unity Hospital. She married Alex Kasper and they made their home on Coon Lake. After Alex passed away Verona moved to Isanti and then to Cambridge. She was a hard worker and was proud of her work. She enjoyed making favorite meals for her family and was known for her great pumpkin and apple pies. She also enjoyed flowers.
Verona will be lovingly remembered by three sons, David (Jean) Woods of Bloomington, Steven Woods of Minneapolis, Tom (Kathy) Woods of Mora; one daughter, Mary (Russell) Torell of Grasston; one sister, Inez Turnquist of Ramsey; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and by other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Rex and Alex; daughter, Joyce; sisters, Vera, Ruth, Gladys and Dorothy; and brothers, Bob, George and Lloyd.
