Vi was born in Cambridge, Minnesota to Ruth and Urban Olson. She was the oldest of three children and her two younger brothers, Howard and Robert Olson, preceded her in death. In 1940 she married Glenn Woods and moved to Taft, California and had three sons, Keith (deceased), Buddy and Dennis Woods. After her divorce, she moved to Bakersfield and raised her three young sons as a single parent. In 1958 she married George Termer who passed away in 1961. Vi spent her entire working career in the restaurant and catering sector, spending many years working for the Moosman family. During her career she made many lasting friendships with people she worked with and was known as an excellent manager who cared about her employees and coworkers. After she retired, she enjoyed golf, traveling and being with her family and friends. Vi was a warm and generous person who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn (Buddy), Lafayette, CA and Dennis, Bakersfield; daughters-in-law, Leota, Loretta, and Jacque of Sparks, NV; stepdaughters, Pam McCants (Kerry) and Shirley Petrie both of Morro Bay; grandchildren, Mark Woods, San Luis Obispo, Denise Dieter (Jeff) bakersfield, Grant Woods, San Jose, Scott Woods, Lafayette; and one great Grandson, Dylan Cabral, Bakersfield.
Graveside services will be on Friday, October 4, 2013, 11:00am at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield.
