Glasco Sun, Sept. 22, 1888, page 4:
Died -- At her home near Glasco, Sept. 16, Noami (sic) Davis. Deceased leaves six children and many grandchildren to mourn her loss. She was born in Virginia, May 1st, 1824, and at the early age of ten years became a member of the Baptist church; she moved with her parents near Indianapolis, Indiana, when at the age of 16 united in marriage with Benjamine (sic) McClellan, and two years afterward became with her husband a member of the Christian church and has ever since clung to that faith. She had much to contend with in this world having buried two husbands and five children. Her first husband died for his country and sleeps in Jesus beneath Kentucky's soil. Her last husband is buried in the Glasco cemetery beside where she now lies. But we do not sorrow without hope for our dear mother was a Christian and of such it is said their hope in death, hope of a glorious immortality, beyond the grave. Oh! how that glorious hope lights up the grave and takes away the gloom from our sorrowing hearts, but to go through life without a mother is oh, so sad.
