Ileene Harrell Plybon, 83, formerly of Route 3, Box 134, Axton, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville. She was born June 9, 1914, in Fries, a daughter of the late Roy Gilbert Harrell and Bessie Wheeler Harrell.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Plybon; two sisters, Louise James and Faye Curry; a brother, Graham Harrell, and a stepson, Paul D. Plybon.
She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Plybon is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Peggy) Joyce of Axton; a son, Charles D. Plybon of Glade Spring; two sisters, Virginia Jarrett of Bassett and Inis Coleman of Collinsville; four brothers, David Harrell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Garland Harrell of Rahway, N.J., William (Bill) Harrell of Fieldale and Roy Harrell of Martinsville; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 1997, with the Rev. Joe Hamilton and the Rev. Robert Martin officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Martinsville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Tomlinson Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of her daughter, Peggy Joyce. Tomlinson Funeral Home, Ridgeway, is in charge of arrangements.
