Venus V. Mullins, 87, of East Palatka, Fla. and formerly of Bristol, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at her son's residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Mullins was born in Whitewood, Va. and had lived in East Palatka since 1969 coming from Bristol. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and working in her yard. She attended Cross Road Community Church in East Palatka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Mullins; her parents, Arthur and Viola Cole; a sister, Gaynell Lawson; and a son, Chester Mullins Jr. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Patricia Mullins of East Palatka; three daughters and son-in-law, Susie and Leo Cremer of Palatka, Ronda Mullins (Randall) of Pinch, W.Va., and Sandy Mullins of East Palatka; two sisters, Arizona Cook of Richlands, Va. and Roberta Ritchie of Pounding Mill, Va.; an adopted brother and sister-in-law, Arlen and Loretta Cook of Okeechobee; a sister-in-law and best friend, Freda Robinson of Wauchula; five grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Rika Mullins, Michael and Leah Mullins, and Nicole and Jade Hess all of Palatka, Tyler Jones (Kirsten) and Johnna Jones (Everett), all of Charleston, W.Va.; a special cousin, Jennifer Faircloth and husband, Edward of East Palatka; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends will be held from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Cross Road Community Church in East Palatka with Pastor Tim Hall officiating.
