Ronnie Page Compton, 67 years of age, of Pilgrims Knob, VA, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home in Pilgrims Knob, VA. Born December 19, 1956, in Richlands, VA, he was the son of George C. Perry and Stella Keen Compton
Ronnie was an employee of Irwin Mine and Tunneling of Oakwood VA and was described as a workaholic by those who knew him best. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed deer hunting, yard work while on his John Deere, and gardening. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Ronnie was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
In addition to his father George C. Perry Compton, he was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Gene, and Perry Wake (P.K.) Compton, and niece Bridgette Compton.
Survivors include his mother Stella Keen Compton of Roanoke, VA; loving wife of forty-five years Carol Sue Clark Compton of Pilgrims Knob, VA; son Bradley Page Compton of Pilgrims Knob, VA; sisters Wanda Sue Pruitt and husband Charles of Roanoke, VA, Gay Prater of Hurley, VA, Lakia Roberts and husband Sammy of Goodview, VA, Trula Compton of Pilgrims Knob, VA.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Adalynn Paige Compton and Tucker Lee Compton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Ronnie Page Compton will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Keen Mountain, VA with Pastor Terry Keen officiating. Burial will follow in the Compton Family Cemetery, Pilgrims Knob, VA.
Pallbearers will be Bradley Page Compton, Wes Pruitt, Matt Compton, Mark Keen, Roman Mullins, Donnie Cash, Austin Underwood, Tony Clark, and Chris Lawson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
