MABEL BRANHAM AKERS, 77 years of age of Williamsburg, VA, formerly of Grundy, VA, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Williamsburg, VA, following an extended illness. Born in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of the late Auty and Jean Branham. She was a resident of Buchanan County many years and was a member of the Buchanan First Presbyterian Church.
Those left to cherish her memory, include her husband, Lawrence Akers, Williamsburg, VA; 3-Children: Jonathan Lodge Compton and Erin Burke, Holland, MI, Jane (Rick) Noel, Summerfield, NC, Jennifer Shawn Compton and Randall Winebarger, Roanoke, VA; 2-Step-Children: Patricia Bowen, Hampton, VA, Karen Govan, Hampton, VA; 1-Sister: Barbara Keen, Grundy, VA; 1-Brother: Jerry Branham, Grundy, VA.
Funeral Services for MABEL BRANHAM AKERS will be conducted Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Napier officiating with entombment to follow in Mountain Rest Mausoleum, Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M.
