Excerpts from the Janesville Gazette, June 22, 1945:
He was born in Ludgvan, England, the son of Stephen and Ellen Troon. He came to the US as a young man (19 or 20 years old) and settled in Wisconsin. He lived the last 27 years of his life in Janesville. At the time of his death, he resided at 315 S. Bluff St. He owned his own blacksmith shop and later worked for Chevrolet. He was a member of Cargill Methodist Church, Janesville Lodge 55 Free & Accepted Masons, and the Janesville Chapter Royal & Select Masons. He was buried at Milton Lawns in Janesville on June 25, 1945.
