Elsie was born September 25, 1902, in Magnolia, WI, the eldest daughter of Stephen John and Willa Troon.
She graduated from Janesville High School and Rock County Normal School, becoming a rural school teacher.
Elsie married Harry Saevre on June 23, 1928. They initially resided in Janesville but eventually relocated to Orfordville.
Elsie was active in the Spring Valley and Rock County 4-H clubs for many years. She was a member of the Orfordville Lutheran Church.
She was survived by two daughters, Janet Hillison and Nancy Bennet.
