Sharon Faye Kendall, 70, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Mitchell, died May 21, 2017 at her home. The Funeral Mass for the repose of the soul of Sharon Kendall will be prayed Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, blessed be her memory. Burial will be at the Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with family present.
Sharon Faye Kendall was born on April 8, 1947 to August and Alice (Dickson) Baumgart in Mitchell, SD. She grew up in Mitchell and attended school at Mitchell High School. She worked at the Methodist Hospital after high school.
On September 28, 1966 Sharon married LeRoy Kendall at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Mitchell. The couple enjoyed traveling for 18 years while LeRoy was in the Military. The two moved back to Mitchell in 1987.
Sharon is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Kay (Karl) Abts, Wichita Falls, TX and Michelle Kendall, Sioux Falls; three grandchildren Johnathan (Natalie) Abts, Ft. Riley, KS, Brian (Marissa) Abts, Mitchell, and Christopher Abts, Mitchell; two great-grandchildren Salena and Karmin Abts; three sisters Karen (Gene) Berg, Irene Hohn, and Verna (Dick) Stindtman; four brothers Winkie (Rita) Baumgart, Dale (Sherri) Baumgart, Denny (Jan) Baumgart, and Bud (Judy) Baumgart; and special companion Dennis Hanssen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy, infant children Gina and Tony; and six siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
