BOLM, FIREMAN, CANCER VICTIM
Served In Hackensack For 20 Years
Lieutenant Ernest A. Bolm of the Hackensack Fire Department died at his home last night at 19 East Fassale Street. Hackensack. of cancer. He was operated on at the Hackensack Hospital six weeks ago and has been on sick leave from the fire department for the last four months.

Lieutenant Bolm was born in 1887 In Brooklyn and has been a member of the fire department for 20 years joining Dec: 15, 1914, when Hackensack's paid department was originated.

In 1919 he was the driver of the first aerial ladder truck owned by the department, and six years later, in 1925, he was promoted to the post of Lieutenant in the administration of Mayor N. Demarest Campbell.

Before Joining the fire department. Lieutenant Bolm was a motorcycle officer in the Hackensack Police Department. Since 1929 he has been in charge of Chemical Company 2 on Hudson Street.

Lieutenant Bolm Is survived by his wife, Jennie Walster Bolm, and his three children, Ernest, Robert, and Jean. He was a member of Pioneer Lodge No. 70, F. & A. M. and Hackensack Valley Council Jr. O. U. A. M.

Funeral services will be held from the funeral home at 74 Central Avenue, Hackensack, tomorrow at 8 p. m. Interment will be at Hackensack Cemetery
