The Denny Family history has the wedding date as Ferbrary 5, 1839. The Feb. 6 date comes from "Descendants of William McIntyre, which also includes the following note:

He was engaged in salmon trade, operated a store, engaged in ship-building, and served Phippsburg as Selectman. He went to California during the prevalance of the "gold fever;" lost his life "heroically by entering upon a hazardous rescue of some men from a watery grave, resulting in a lung attack that ended his life while in the prime of his manhood."
